George Smith was raised on the great melting pot of New York City’s foods. George’s great grandfather owned a butcher shop in New Jersey and his grandfather started a food factory in Manhattan during the Great Depression, making George the 4th generation of his family in the food business. George’s parents were food lovers and his palate and palette were shaped by some of New York’s finest restaurants.
At age 18, George started working in restaurant kitchens; they’ve become a second home to him. His intense curiosity has propelled him through international cuisines, graduate training in nutrition, and led to a George’s Bistro’s menu that is an eclectic mix of fusion specialties and down home favorites. Our menu reflects the question: What interesting things we can do with the best ingredients we can find? We hope you enjoy our answers.
